Cory Tixier

Cory’s commitment to balance and harmony has inspired her to become a student of Ayurveda and Yoga eventually allowing her to teach and facilitate healing.  Her deep understanding of these ancient practices aid in her ability to communicate their wisdom in a personal and practical way.  Both inspiring and patient, she has an innate ability to convey their truth and meaning. 
As a committed practitioner, Cory is honest, receptive, welcoming, understanding and accepting of all who come to see her, providing them with a safe, life-affirming experience.  
Through the years, Cory has amassed a wealth of knowledge and experience.  She spent several years teaching yoga to at-risk youth in halfway houses and schools in New York City finding that these students felt more empowered by yoga.  
After living in New York City for 12 years, Cory returned to her native New Mexico and began her studies with Dr. Vasant Lad.  She excelled in her studies and was awarded a tuition scholarship from the Institute’s Board of Directors.  Upon graduation, she joined the AI faculty in both the Education Department and in the Pancha Karma Department. 
Cory is also the founder of  Pure Habitat, “an eco-friendly cleaning service that has been helping New York City ‘go green’ for over a decade.” 
A full-time faculty member at the Ayurvedic Institute in multiple capacities, Cory helps design and develop curriculums, assists Dr. Vasant Lad during his Guru Kula lecture series, leads Foundational Skills (an Ayurvedic lifestyles course), and teaches both the beginner and advanced Ayuryoga courses.  
Cory maintains a private practice in Albuquerque, New Mexico, providing Ayurvedic treatments and consultations as well as private Yoga therapy. She is available for workshops, seminars and private study. In person or via Skype. 
Cory attended Texas A&M and completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology. Cory is a certified Ayurvedic Practitioner and ERYT 500. 
Cory is a member of the National Ayurvedic Medical Association (NAMA),  The International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT) and Yoga Alliance (YA).
